Alma Pauline (Jenkins) Royse, age 98, of Olney moved to her heavenly home to spend eternity with God at 1:40 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Alma was born on August 9, 1921 to Asa and Stella (Lewis) Jenkins in Dundas. Alma attended Dundas school and East Richland High School where she met the love of her life, Ernest B. Royse. They were married on June 2, 1946 in Olney. Shortly after being married they bought a farm where they would spend their life together. She learned early in life to put God first. She attended the Rafetown Christian Church, Main Street Christian Church of Olney, Mt. Gilead Church and the Free Methodist Church in Olney, and supported each of them with loyalty and talents.
Alma loved children and was extremely organized in raising her family. She loved to sing music all the time, she was in a Quartet with her brothers when they were younger. She also played the piano and taught her children to sign choruses. She enjoyed sewing which she learned when she was young and used when she worked at the Olney Garment Factory until she was married. She enjoyed her life on the farm where she and Ernest worked as a team to make it successful.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, son Julian Royse, daughter Wilma (Royse) Dickey, son-in-law James Clark, granddaughter Emily (Royse) Davis, 2 great-grandchildren Corden Kennedy and James Hunley, 2 brothers: Louis Jenkins and Blanchard Jenkins, 3 sisters: Corine Neeley, Myra Jenkins and Iona Siebert, 5 brothers-in-law: Byron Neeley, Rozell Royse, Marion Royse, Oscar Grubb and Joe Weiler, 5 sisters-in-law: Tressa Jenkins, Elizabeth Weiler, Thelma Royse, Marie Jenkins and Mary Lou Jenkins.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Monday, March 2, 2020 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Graveside service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Pastor Steve Wingert will be officiating.
