Welcome to the memorial page for

Jaiden Darrell King

January 18, 2005 ~ January 17, 2019 (age 13)

Maybe you felt it and maybe you didn’t on January 17, 2019 the world as we know it changed when Jaiden Darrell King, 13 years old took his own life at his home in Indianapolis. Jaiden is the son of Ben and Mandy King and was born in Olney on January 18, 2005.

He was a bright and shining star in our lives. An outstanding athlete, who’s dream was to play for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team and eventually be in the NFL. Jaiden had a personality that drew people to him. He was a unique young person because he was always polite and demonstrated the utmost respect to his peers and appointed himself a protector to those he thought were not being treated fairly. He could be found helping people and always making them smile.

Jaiden enjoyed always being active. If he wasn’t spending time with his family and friends or playing video game especially Fort Nite, you could find him on the football field or wrestling mat playing his favorite sports. He also enjoyed being outdoors hunting or fishing. He also enjoyed working out, reading, and eating really good food. He always wanted to be surrounded by people whether that was hanging out with family or friends or displaying his talent to people while he was playing sports. He loved competition and never turned down the opportunity to take on a good dare.

He was a member of the Olney Junior Pro Football team from 3rd-7th grade, Team Indiana FBU football team from 6th-7th grade, Creston Middle School football team 8th grade, Team Indiana Select football team 8th grade, Team USA 14 and Under football team and Creston Middle School wrestling 8th grade. He was attending Creston Middle School in Indianapolis.

Jaiden is survived by his parents Ben and Mandy King; 2 brothers Brody and Tristen; grandparents Nana Ginger Thoms (Mark), John Cox, Garth (Marcia) Ries, Mamaw Angel and Papaw Ed King; uncles Nathan Ries and Nick Ries, Ethan Padgett, Casey King and Jake King (Mandy); cousins Loralie McCarter, Cheyanne, Bayley and Tyson King; great grandmas Priscilla Robertson, Patricia Tarin, and Shirley Drew; and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.
